Thursday February 25: Nokia N900 USB port failures

If you like Linux and you like smartphones you surely know about Nokia's N900. The Linux powered phone has drawn a lot of attention and gadget lust since it's release last year. There have been a lot of great reviews about it. I've been wanting one myself.

However, something may be rotten in Finland. They are growing reports that the USB port used for charging, tethering and data are breaking off making the port unusable. Even more alarming are continued reports that Nokia is rejecting warranty claims.

In their march towards version 2.0 OpenNMS has released version 1.6.0. OpenNMS continues to offer one of the best network and host monitoring products I've seen. Even against Openview or Tivoli I think that OpenNMS has merits worth considering.
